Having worked at so many wonderful venues over the years you learn very quickly that couples and families have completley different tastes, I have seen one couple tell me its their dream venue and litterally a few minutes later another couple tell me its not for them. You have to do the leg work and go and see the venues you think you will love, and remember your wet weather option should be as good as your dry weather option after all we do live in the UK.
